Acirae, The Artist, The Founder
If you haven't noticed, ACIRAE is my name spelled backwards. When I was younger, I use to always spell words backwards and the day I spelled my name, I ... JUST...KNEW ...I was on to something.
Come A Little Closer
I have an amazing God-fearing husband and we've been blessed with a son and two daughters. I currently reside in Indianapolis, Indiana where I was born and raised with three boys, by a single mother alongside really awesome grandparent (My father's parents). My father blessed me with three other siblings and an awesome bonus mother. My brothers and I went to several public schools in the city. By my sophomore year in high school, I had been to four different schools. I later graduated from the last one that I moved to, which is Fisher's High School, in 2011. GO FISHER'S TIGERS!!! THAT'S where I really started to become more creative.
How It All Started
I've always known how to draw, since I can remember. Pencil and paper were my THANG! However, I chose to be in an advanced drawing class when I was in my senior year at Fisher's High, called DRAWING TWO. Boy, was I challenged! I was NOT into using color and my art teacher threw some useful advice at me that I use to this day, using color and drawing pencils. I LOVED IT!! I never would have guessed how much more I could do in my life of art by taking an advanced drawing class. Unfortunately, I didn't really take my art serious after high school. I was just drawing here and there. And then in 2019 I got pregnant with my first daughter, and started painting. It's been the most fulfilling thing I've ever decided to do in my life of art.
Behind The Paint Brush
I have definitely been through hard things and times growing up, but honestly, we all have a story. This thing called life isn't easy. So why not use art to relate to people while giving them joy. That's what art does for me. Not just mine, but others as well. Painting is an enjoyable lifestyle, and seeing and hearing expressions of excitement after completing a piece is even more enjoyable. It looks like healing through my eyes. Watching people examine, relate, wonder, and educate themselves about a piece, is fulfilling. That is the beautiful part: and If I'm doing that for you, I'm honored. If I can give you a moment of happiness from the strokes of paint and a brush: WOW! Your smile and your emotions toward the artwork are the masterpieces.
My Inspiration
I am mostly inspired by my culture, the black and brown community. My art reflects relationships, events, and emotions that are around me. Sometimes that looks dark, sometimes it's painful, sometimes it's beautiful. It just really depends on what's around you and your perspective of things at that time. My art is for us to experience, and I'm honored to have this gift to serve others.
